This moulding is held in place 5 by clips of 3 different types. The top clip is nailed to the car and is quite robust. 3 other clips fit on to a barbed "u" channel glued to the body of the car. The last clip type grabs the glass. A write-up on this I read, mentioned that prying the moulding resulted in the removal of the glued "u" channel. This is something I DID NOT want deal with. When I removed mine for replacement I cut the molding with metal scissors along its length. I could then remove the 3 clips that fit the "u" channel by sliding them out and prying the channel apart w/o having to pull on it.
